The founder's story

From writing code to caring about everything behind it.

Sajeda Patel started out building for other people's storefronts. Over five years and more than 150 projects across agencies, startups, technology firms, and freelance work, she learned that most problems live between systems — an interface waiting on a service, a service trusting data it shouldn't.

That work taught her to see beyond screens and features. A broken checkout is not merely a technical issue; it can mean lost orders, frustrated customers, and damaged trust. A confusing interface can prevent a business from reaching its audience. A fragile integration can disrupt the workflows a team depends on every day.

Graduate study at Memorial University — applied AI and computer vision, deployed on real hardware — made her even more careful about results: a strong number means little until it survives messy input. Teaching computer architecture and security labs changed how she communicates: check understanding instead of assuming it.

I care about the business behind the build.

I've never seen development as simply completing a list of tasks. When someone trusts me with their website, application, or idea, they're trusting me with something connected to their business, their customers, their investment, and often years of hard work.
That responsibility changes how I approach a project. I want to understand why something matters before deciding how to build it. I care about the experience customers have, the reliability of the systems behind it, and the commercial consequences of the decisions we make.
I don't want to simply deliver something that looks finished. I want to create something thoughtfully built, carefully tested, and worthy of the trust someone placed in me.

Five-plus years across agencies, startups, technology firms, and freelance engagements — including HulkApps, Praella, The VAM Group, Dream Team Digital Marketing, Genoa Design International, and NetBenefit Software — spanning e-commerce, complex integrations, and client-facing technical delivery.

Entrepreneurial experience

Founder of GrowGrid NL, a connected smart-hydroponics venture combining sensors, firmware, cloud services, data pipelines, and a web interface — recipient of project funding through the NL Eats Food Forward Innovation Challenge.

Quality and reliability

Hands-on experience across development and QA: testing, debugging, root-cause analysis, and production reliability.

Teaching and mentorship
